How You'll Make Your Mark: 

As our next Child and Family Case Worker (Men’s), you will play a pivotal role in fostering healthier relationships and empowering fathers in our community to become positive role models and caregivers. Your work will directly contribute to the overall well-being of children, promoting their emotional and social development with the overarching goal of preventing child abuse and neglect. 

You will achieve this by:

  • Conducting in-home assessments and identifying family strengths and risks
  • Providing referrals to external service providers as required
  • Identifying gaps in services available to clients and advocating on their behalf
  • Providing flexible service delivery to clients and travelling throughout Shepparton to visit client families

The Tools You'll Need:

To be considered for this role, you’ll need, at a minimum, a Diploma of Community Services (Bachelor of Social Work or similar preferred). 

To thrive in this role, you will ideally have prior demonstrated experience in a similar role where you engaged with men, as well as a thorough understanding of complex family dynamics. Your ability to build trust and rapport with men from diverse backgrounds and life experiences will be essential in successfully connecting with fathers in our community. 

2+ years of case management experience in a similar position will be highly regarded, but not essential.

Additional requirements include:

  • A commitment to client/case worker confidentiality and the ability to maintain professional boundaries 
  • Thorough understanding of relevant theoretical frameworks and legislation
  • The ability to undertake child-focussed assessments and consultations
  • Willingness to obtain a valid Working With Children Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencing employment with us (if you've spent over 12 months overseas in the last 10 years, you will also be required to undergo an International Police Check or present evidence of a satisfactory check)
  • Minimum of 2 doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and a valid Australian Drivers License
