The Manager of The Orange Door is a 12 month fixed term contract position. This role is preferred full time.

The Orange Door will bring together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Orange Door Team and a consolidated intake point for child and family and family violence services.

A key recommendation of the Royal Commission and the Roadmap for Reform was to establish a network of Support and Safety Hubs (The Orange Door) across Victoria to provide a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence, and families in need of support with the care, development and wellbeing of children and young people, to access coordinated support from community, health and justice services.

FamilyCare now requires a dedicated Manager to supervise Practice Leaders and support their staff and the work of The Orange Door.

How You’ll Make a Difference

The Manager of The Orange Door (TOD) is a key leadership position providing operational supervision and support to both the main TOD site and the Access point in Wallan for FamilyCare employees only. The Manager of TOD, will represent the Agency on all home agency and Familycare management meetings and is a member of the operational leadership group. Some of the key requirements of the position include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Family Safety Victoria and other key external stakeholders.
  • Understanding and monitoring the external environment as it pertains to The Orange Door and to respond appropriately to gaps or opportunities.
  • Assuming responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of Child Wellbeing programs, including risk management of children and young people in TOD.
  • Providing formal supervision, support and direction to Team Leaders and Practice Leaders within the Matrix Management Model.

This role will be based in Shepparton at The Orange Door office.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

To be considered for this role, you must hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work or meet other requirements as outlined in Recommendation 209 (i.e. hold relevant qualifications or can demonstrate that you are working towards these qualifications). Leadership and supervision experience is required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required and experience and understanding of working with vulnerable children and families to ensure individuals and families are receiving appropriate levels of support.
